Halo Community Commendations 2025 Winners

This project is about bringing people together, giving community stories a home, and recognizing the fans, creators, organizers, artists, competitors, and longtime voices who keep Halo alive beyond the game itself.

At the Halo World Championship, we had the chance to bring the project to life in person at Community Corner. What started as nominations, voting, committee conversations, and community support became a real moment with real people in the room.

Hosted by the one and only RangerCali, the Commendations Ceremony gave us the chance to celebrate the people and groups who make this scene special. Not just the biggest names. Not just the loudest platforms. But the people who show up, give back, build spaces, create art, capture memories, organize events, forge new experiences, and help make Halo feel like home.

Why We Created the Halo Community Commendations

The Halo Community Commendations were created to recognize the parts of the Halo scene that often make the biggest impact, but do not always receive the spotlight.

The Halo community is built by more than competition. It is built by the people making things, organizing things, filming things, moderating spaces, cheering from the crowd, handing out swag, running side brackets, building maps, creating content, preserving history, and making others feel welcome.

That is the heart of this project.

From the beginning, the Commendations were meant to be community-driven. Nominations came from the community. Voting gave the community a voice. Committees helped review categories with fairness, transparency, and respect for the people involved.

2025 Halo Community Commendations Finalists

To our finalists, thank you. Being named a finalist in the Halo Community Commendations means the community saw something in you worth celebrating. Your creativity, dedication, generosity, and passion are a major part of what makes Halo feel alive beyond the game itself. Whether you create, compete, organize, capture, build, moderate, cosplay, support, or simply show up for others, your work matters. These awards were never only about the winners. They were about recognizing the people who give this community its energy, its memory, and its heart. Every finalist represented that spirit, and we are grateful for the impact you continue to have on Halo.

A Special Recognition for Duststorm

In addition to the category winners, we also presented a special award to Dustin Pettigrew, better known as Duststorm, for his longtime contributions to the Halo community.

For years, Duststorm has been one of those people whose work can be felt across the Halo community, even when it is not always front and center. Through Podtacular, he helped give fans a place to gather around the universe, talk through its stories, react to its biggest moments, and keep the conversation going between releases, events, and eras of Halo.

But his impact goes beyond the microphone. Duststorm has been involved behind the scenes in so many parts of the Halo community, often helping, connecting, supporting, and showing up without needing the spotlight for himself. That kind of contribution is easy to miss because it is rarely loud or self-serving, but it is exactly the kind of steady work that helps a community last.

To us, Duststorm represents the kind of unsung hero the Halo Community Commendations were built to recognize. Someone who has contributed for years, helped others along the way, and cared about the community without making it about himself.

It only feels right to thank someone whose consistency, generosity, and passion have helped carry Halo across eras. Through Podtacular, through his behind-the-scenes involvement, and through years of simply being there for the community, Duststorm has earned a place in Halo’s larger story. Forever a pillar in Halo’s history.
