eSports: Europa Halo 2v2 Doubles Series – League Starts March 15th

Halo eSports is something we here at Halo Respawn plan to focus a lot more on in the future. Informing others about the important grassroots efforts is crucial to the growth of Halo eSports and the community of Halo around the world.

Today we are excited to share Europa Halo’s Doubles Series! A 2v2 league set to begin this week with a brand new game type. Europa Halo is looking to pioneer their own settings which have been determined by community feedback, as they noticed the current “standard” in Halo eSports Doubles isn’t fit for competitive use. It will be interesting to see how their new game type differs and changes the dynamic as players compete in the coming weeks

We are excited about Europa Halo’s upcoming league season and will continue to provide updates on the series as it progresses, for more information on the league and getting involved further, please visit the Europa Halo Discord & Twitter; but without further adieu, let’s get the details on the league itself.

First Qualifier of The Europa Doubles Series

Teams will compete across three qualifiers for one of 16 spots in the Europa Doubles Series League.

Seeding points are cumulative and will be determined once sign-ups are complete.

Qualifiers are free to enter but if your team makes the top 16 teams for league play you must pay the entry fee for your team at £10 per team.

All money will be reverted back to the prize pool.

The league will have two divisions with the top 8 teams playing in Division 1 and the next best 8 teams in Division 2. Seeding points will determine the league division placement. All teams will still have a chance of winning the top prize however it will be more difficult for teams in Division 2.

The league will be run over 5 weeks. Teams will arrange games within a week’s time frame. Selected games will be required to be played on a certain day for Broadcasting. These games will be given notice in advance.

The Top 4 teams in Div 1 move to the Quarter Finals with final league placing determining seeding on a bracket so there will be no need for a Double Elimination bracket. The Bottom 4 teams will play off against the top 4 teams in Div 2 for a place in the Quarter Finals with league positions also determine the match up (Div 1: 8th vs Div 2: 1st).
