I wanted the first topic regarding Halo Infinite as something positive about the game. Everyone hates on it, but so do they hate on every Halo Game released after Reach. Forge is amazing, gameplay is so much fun, the customization is super in depth. I know there are issues with micro transactions and shop prices and whatnot, but if that’s really the only issue, I’m fine with it.
Me and my boys played for 4 hours last night. It took Halo Studios way too long to get it to where it needed to be, but it's truly a fantastic game today. Content rich with plenty of updates and stuff to grind for. We're bringing it back to it's true glory!
I agree with all the criticisms, but good lord I love Husky Raid and Firefight
I'm a fan, probably one of if not the best feeling Halo game imo. Shame it got stuck with a lot of the same problems Halo 5 had despite the gameplay.
Halo Infinite was THIS CLOSE to being amazing, it has an artstyle that doesn't look trash, it has a decent fun story, and it has gameplay that by some miracle that at least in concept most fans like by blending the best parts of new and old. The problem is the game went through development hell due to incompetent leadership, leaving it in a state where its still kinda unfinished and not well polished enough. The movement acceleration is really off, the weapons sandbox could have better varitey in some areas, features are either broken or missing, the SBMM is really overtuned, the menu UI sucks, and the game tries to charge you 20 USD for the color white.
I dont hate infinite, I hate how it wasnt given its chance to truly shine, it was so damn close. Im enjoying playing the game a bit on weekends for the classic EOD armor, but when thats done im just gonna go back to MCC.
My biggest deterrent from playing infinite was honestly the lack of social features, along with the lack of content for a year or so. I played it upon release and enjoyed it for a bit, but it grew old for me sadly especially when they promised no more campaign DLC's and the multiplayer fell a little short for a while... as NeoLuna22 said it was pretty close to being amazing, but it fell pretty short.
I started playing Infinite on PC cause of the free MP. (Also didn't own an xbox at the time) and eventually bought the campaign once I did get my hands on an xbox. It took me a long while to finish cause I kept getting distracted with other games, BUT I did come back earlier this year to wrap it up. Mainly I just wanted the armor and weapon skins for MP, but overall I enjoyed the way the story went and exploring the world got more fun over time, especially as the skills leveled.
I wish at least half the current content was available at launch since I got so burned out of the same gametypes and hyper competitiveness of this game, it's nice to play this game on and off but it sucks that I can't no life it like I did with Halo 3 in the past.
I started playing a few months ago and it's a lot of fun, I just wish it had a more active playerbase.
I do acknowledge the game has immense potential even 3 years after launch. and it has undeniable quality put into the gameplay.
But the sound design. And the Spartan's armor during gameplay both emmit a plastic feeling. The games atmosphere and design doesn't have the weight, the GIRTH if you will. To really sell that you are playing as a 2 ton war machine.
And the game is still missing components that made Bungie times fun. But I want to think of those as potential additions rather than losses
I love playing it, I've enjoyed it through out. But I do think that if the normal halo features, forge firefight and split screen, were available at launch the game would have done considerably better. Not to mention the microtransactions. I miss having to try and fail multiple times trying to do a specific challenge to get a specific bit of army. I guess this was the trade off for having a free to play multiplayer.
I miss it a lot, I haven't played in the longest time and from what I've heard Halo Studios hasn't added any official maps for a while now so I haven't had any reason to reinstall. I saw my old Halo 3 suit was released and almost redownloaded but it was a store item 🙁
Yep I thought it was pretty decent. Just felt like one third of a Halo game. Desperately needed more campaign, with different biomes! Continuing the main story is the only thing that'd get me back.
Gotta say the only thing I cant stand is the over reliance on forge maps. I know they're focused on other things at this point but even still, I was expecting a lot more neat dev made maps based on the leaks. I mean seriously some of those BTB maps looked outstanding. Oh well, at least we're getting invasion and other really neat stuff in the future. Could be worse.
