Halo Spotlight Weekly Roundup: Featured Artist – The Epsilon Alpha147

Hello everyone. Welcome to Halo United. The place that unites all the Halo Community goodness in one place. We’ve got another Halo Spotlight Weekly Roundup for you all, so be ready for some awesome artwork.

This spotlight piece will be showing off artwork by The Epsilon Alpha147, who is also known as Tyreff W, the founding member of The Epsilon Studios. The Epsilon Alpha147 was kind enough to send over their favourite pieces of art, along with some history on how they got into making 3D Halo art, and their creative process for doing so. We hope you all enjoy.

We asked The Epsilon Alpha147 for a bit of background on how they got into making 3D Halo art, as well as what they use, and what their creative process is:

Well I got to this 3D art for the machinimas in Halo. The rest is history, I don’t use SFM but blender and I’m good at it. I make commissions for promotional videos or projects, and my creative process is based on modular states.

First, I prepare all the models to be able to use them and I make libraries to save them for later. Then when I want or they ask me for a job, I just take the assets and arrange them in the way I imagined.

Right now I’m working on a secret project, which I will announce tomorrow over on Twitter. (I also like) inventing new models for images or custom painting styles. I would like to see my skin or model work be part of TMCC (Halo: The Master Chief Collection), you know, like things to unlock. I also do animations based on mocap and procedural movement.

That’s all for The Epsilon Alpha147’s section, but if you want to find more awesome stuff by The Epsilon Alpha147, you can do so on their Twitter Account and YouTube Channel. A big thank you once again to The Epsilon Alpha147 for taking the time to chat with us and give us an insight on how they do things.
