Hey everyone — Blankslate here.
First off, I want to personally apologize for the lack of updates and slower responses on the forums since launch. It’s not the way I wanted things to roll out, but to be transparent, it’s been a tumultuous time for me personally, and I’ve had to step back and prioritize life elsewhere. Definitely not ideal right after launching the site — but sometimes life makes that call.
That said, things are moving forward again. So I wanted to share again what that looks like for the rest of July and August. Again this isn’t ALL AT ONCE. This is what we have planned over the coming months.
Community Index – V1 Coming Mid-August
We’ve officially kicked off work on the Community Index, our cornerstone initiative that will serve as a living directory of Halo communities, creators, teams, leagues, and fan-driven projects.
We’re aiming for mid-August to launch the first version, with continuous updates and expansions to follow. If you’re part of a community that should be represented, you can submit by visiting HERE!
For those that are unaware, here is a concept of what we currently foresee the Community Index to look like:
Halo World Championship – See You in Seattle
We’re excited to share that (Blankslate) will be attending the Halo World Championship in Seattle. We’ll be there to represent, connect with the community, meet players, creators, and teams — and share updates and content from the event.
Expect event coverage, interviews, and community highlights directly from Seattle! For us this is the most exciting aspect coming up as it allows us to connect with the community directly!
Forums – New Staff & Ongoing Improvements
To better support our growing community, we’re bringing more staff onto the Halo Respawn team to help manage the site and create content.
We are also looking for MODERATORS to help manage the forums in the near future. Be on the lookout as we open up applications!
We’ve also been reviewing the suggestions submitted via the Feedback Forum, and we’ll be rolling out forum updates, bug fixes, and general improvements throughout August to keep refining the experience.We know there is a lot more to make the experience worthwhile.
Community Events & Articles Coming August
Starting in August, we’ll be kicking off Community Events and a new wave of Articles on HaloRespawn.com.
Again, here is the type of content to expect in the future:
- Community Spotlights: Shining a light on creators, machinima makers, competitive teams, and community leaders.
- Halo History: Deep dives into the origins of Grifball, machinima, and the evolution of competitive Halo.
- Lore & Analysis: Exploring the depths of Halo’s universe, storylines, and characters.
- Opinion & Editorials: Perspectives on the current state of Halo and where the franchise — and its community — should go next.
- Event Coverage: Recaps, insights, and interviews from Halo events big and small.
